Privacy Policy for Gita GPT

Data We Collect

• Account data. You sign in with Google or, on iOS, with Apple. We receive your name, your email address and, from Google, your profile photo. If you sign in with Apple and hide your email, we receive only an Apple relay address.
• Conversations. We store your questions and Krishna's replies with your account.
• Usage counts. We count the questions you ask each day to apply the daily limit.
• Analytics. We record which screens and features you use, linked to your account ID and email address. Analytics never contain the text of your conversations.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data only to run Gita GPT: to sign you in, to write replies to your questions, to apply the daily limit, to fix problems and to understand which features people use. We do not show ads, we do not sell your data, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

How Replies Are Written

To write a reply, our server sends your questions, the conversation so far and your first name (so that Krishna can address you) to OpenRouter, which passes them to the AI model provider that writes the reply. The model we use can change over time. Our server also sends the text of your recent questions to OpenRouter to find the Gita verses that fit them best. We never send your email address to these providers.

Replies are written by an AI model. They can be wrong. Take them as reflection, not as professional advice.

Who Receives Your Data

We share your data only with the service providers that run Gita GPT for us:

• Supabase stores your account, your conversations and your usage counts, and handles sign-in.
• OpenRouter and the AI model provider receive the data described in “How Replies Are Written”.
• PostHog processes analytics on servers in the European Union.
• Vercel hosts our website and our server.
• Google and Apple handle sign-in when you choose them.

Each provider processes your data under its own privacy policy.

Your Consent

When you sign in, you agree to this policy. Before your first question, the iOS app also tells you what is sent to the AI provider and asks you to agree. If you do not agree, the app signs you out and sends nothing.

Storage, Security and Retention

Supabase stores your data on secure servers. We keep your account, conversations and usage counts until you delete your account.

Your Rights

You can permanently delete your account at any time. In the iOS app, open Account and tap “Delete Account”. In the Android app, open Profile and tap “Delete account”. On the web, sign in and go to your account page. Deleting your account removes your profile, all your conversations and your usage history. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke the app's access to your Apple ID.

Account deletion does not remove analytics events that PostHog already holds. To have them deleted, or for any other request about your data, contact us.

Age Restrictions

Our app does not have an age restriction for its users.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

We can change this policy at any time. We post changes on this page and they take effect when posted. The effective date at the top shows the latest change.
